SquareSpace Website Dev Part I: Projects

Over the years I have used several content management systems, website development tools and codes to develop customer and client websites. After building my first website on SquareSpace (“SqSp”) in 2017, the game started to change for me. At that time, I was still a staunch supporter of WordPress sites. However, this began to change as I grew wary over the significant amount of time I was spending updating the framework code and plugins each week.

In 2018 when I developed my first client site for Only Make Believe, the topic official closed as SqSp became my preferred website platform. My key selling points for this platform is ease of use, variable access assignment, and scalability through the modification of CSS and other supported codes.

Over the years, this company has continued to raise the bar by providing countless tools for streaming a developer’s business operations. Currently my favorite features are custom CSS, Projects and the soon to be released Documents, which will be covered in the Part II post.

The Projects feature is designed to streamline project management by keep tracking of vital details, milestones and deliverables for each client site. Here are some key benefits:

  1. Centralized Management: Gone are the days of juggling multiple tools for project tracking. With SqSp Projects, everything you need for managing your website projects is consolidated on the backend.

  2. Enhanced Organization: Say goodbye to cluttered spreadsheets and disparate files. SqSp Projects offer a structured framework for organizing milestones, deliverables, and client communications, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

  3. Brand Consistency: By customizing templates to match your website and business branding, you maintain a consistent brand identity across all client-facing materials, reinforcing professionalism and trust.

  4. Time Savings: With SqSp Projects, tasks that previously required manual intervention, such as creating and send services lists and discovery forms which saving devs valuable time that can be redirected towards more other endeavors.

SquareSpace is a solid one-stop shop for developers, site owners and their supporting team.

In my next post I will provide an overview of my beta test of the Documents feature that will be rolled out to all users soon. Have an marvelous weekend!
